Student Orientation Week is an annual activity that is mandatory for new students at Amore Prime School High School. With the theme “New Beginnings Endless Possibilities,” the event is designed to provide a thorough introduction to the school, acquaint new students with teachers and student councils (OSIS), as well as help new students adapt to their new school environment.

Student Orientation Week also aims to build social relationships between new students and other students, create a spirit of brotherhood, and provide essential knowledge about school life.

For two days, 13-14 July 2023, the excitement of Student Orientation Week happened with various interesting events. The event started with teacher and student council introductions that helped new students feel welcome and comfortable in the school environment.

Performances from dance and band extracurriculars provided energetic and uplifting entertainment to the new students. Exciting talk shows organized by the student council and teachers provided insight into their roles in running school activities.

Ice breaker activities were used to introduce new students to each other and build bonds between them. During student orientation week, in-depth explanations on school activities, learning systems, regulations, curriculum, and uniforms were given to give new students a comprehensive understanding of the rules and academic life at Amore Prime School.

New students are also invited to participate in various fun games that aim to hone their skills, encourage teamwork, and explore the potential of their school. Through this series of events, new students at Amore Prime School High School experience a new spirit, get to know new friends, and begin their high school journey with enthusiasm and hope for the endless opportunities that await them.

Graduation is “a conclusion of one chapter, a beginning of another.”

It is a significant milestone in a student’s life, marking the culmination of their secondary education journey. It is a time of celebration, reflection, and transition as students prepare to embark on the next chapter of their lives.

Beyond the pomp and circumstance, high school graduation holds a deeper meaning. It represents the culmination of years of learning, growth, and personal development. Students reflect on the challenges they have overcome, the friendships they have formed, and the knowledge they have gained. It is a time to acknowledge each individual’s accomplishments and achievements and celebrate their unique paths.

This year’s theme is “Onward And Upward,” emphasizing that graduation is not only an end but also a new beginning. As our Grade 12 graduates leave the familiar halls of their Alma Mater (Amore Prime School), they step into a world of possibilities and opportunities. It is a time of transition as they prepare to pursue higher education, enter the workforce, or follow their passions and dreams. Graduation marks the moment when students spread their wings and embark on a journey of self-discovery and fulfillment.

Its significance extends beyond the individual student. It is a collective celebration of the efforts and sacrifices made by parents, teachers, and the entire school community. Graduation represents the successful collaboration between educators and students, who have worked together to achieve academic excellence and personal growth.

High school graduation is also a time of reflection, gratitude, and hope. It is a celebration of accomplishments, a farewell to the familiar, and a stepping stone toward a brighter future. As graduates cross the stage, they carry with them the memories, lessons, and friendships forged during their high school years, ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

The takjil (iftar meal) distribution activity carried out by Amore Prime School student council
members on March 18, 2023 is part of a tradition that has been carried out for many years during the month of Ramadan.

In this activity, the student council members distributed food and drinks to the community around Amore Prime School who were fasting. From the preparation of tools and materials to the distribution of takjil, it was carried out by the senior high student council of Amore Prime School.

Through the free takjil distribution activity, Amore Prime School students not only showed social awareness to the surrounding community, but also strengthened the relationship between the school and the community.

In this activity, student council members also learn to be more sensitive to the needs and expectations of the surrounding community, and understand that simple social activities can have a big impact on people’s lives.

Hopefully, this activity can encourage the spirit of mutual cooperation and social care among the community, thus creating a more harmonious and supportive environment.

Winter Camp – Mandarin Intensive Class

Mandarin is currently the most widely spoken language in the world, spoken by as many as 1.3 billion people worldwide. Learning Mandarin can be a challenging task for many, especially for those who are not familiar with the language and the culture.

In this Winter Camp activity, students take part in various kinds of mandarin classes intensively and practice them directly and take part in several activities to learn Chinese culture. With activities such as cooking Chinese food, Chinese performance, games and visiting PIK Chinatown, students can immerse themselves in Chinese culture while learning a lot of new vocabulary words.

Nowadays, Mandarin is a vital language for business and trade, as China is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. Knowing Mandarin can open up new job opportunities and help students to build valuable connections with people from different cultures. Winter Camp activity provide students with an opportunity to learn Mandarin and Chinese culture in a fun and interactive way.

“SPIRIT OF A TRAILBLAZER; MAKING A WAY SO OTHERS CAN FOLLOW” is the theme of this year’s self awareness program that we held every year for our students.

Being a leader is the dream or aspiration of every human being. It’s the same with the youth of the Indonesian nation, namely the millennial generation. They are future leaders who will lead this nation one day. Every country in this world hopes for its youth to be able to bring progress and positive change to make it better.

Once, the youths played a vital role with the founding Fathers of this nation. It’s a good reminder, especially to the youths of this era, the millennial generation. Suppose tens of years ago; the youth fought for their country physically. In that case, it is different from today’s era, where the youths face challenges of various forms, and if they’re misguided, they will stray in the wrong direction, which certainly harms the nation. The youths of today must be resolute for the sustainability of the nation’s life.

On 24-25 February 2023, Amore Prime School Student Council held a Basic Leadership Training or Latihan Dasar Kepemimpinan. Basic Leadership Training or LDK itself in general is a training provided by the current Student Council to new candidates of Student Council. New candidates of Student Council were given various materials about leadership about how to lead a good organization and also how to work well together in an organization.

In this event, senior high school student council provide many sessions and games to train the candidates leadership skills. We also invited a guest speaker, Abigail Theodora Tanzil, S.Psi, from UBM to share what are the keypoints in being a leader.

Chinese New Year, also known as Spring Festival or Lunar New Year, is a time for families to gather, enjoy delicious food, and celebrate the start of a new lunar cycle.

Amore Prime School also joined in the festivities with a variety of events, including a lion dance performance, lantern making competition, class performances, educational stands and more.

The lion dance is a traditional performance that is believed to bring good luck and prosperity. The colorful and energetic dance is performed by two people, with one person controlling the head of the lion and the other controlling the tail. The lion weaves through the crowd, collecting 红包 (hóngbāo) from students.

In addition to the lion dance, there’s also lantern making competition, which symbolizes hope and joy. There were also performances from each classes showcasing their talent on singing and dancing. In addition to that, students also prepared educational stands about Chinese culture and language.

This Chinese New Year celebration event offer a fun and educational opportunity for our students to learn about and experience Chinese culture.

Character-based education is the principle instilled by Amore Prime school. Amore Prime School as a school that does not only prioritize the intelligence of its students also seeks to balance educational content with character building in the aspects of its teaching.

Therefore, as a manifestation of spreading love and the school’s vision, Amore Prime School’s Student Council took the initiative to raise funds for less fortunate children under the auspices of the orphanage.

On January 14 2023, Amore Prime School’s Student Council fulfilled the aspirations of the school’s vision by raising funds while visiting two orphanages, namely the Bhakti Luhur Orphanage in Jakarta and the Abigail Orphanage in Tangerang.

Amore Prime School’s dedication to the orphanage is not only in the form of fundraising, but also to enliven the atmosphere of the orphanage by holding several games and playing with the orphanage’s children.

Apart from the Student Council, Amore Prime School students also took part in the success of the orphanage.

The existence of this effort has fostered a sense of empathy and developed a spirit of love for others.
